Tea Time, Because My Cup Runneth Over

Tea Time, Because My Cup Runneth Over

Tea Time, Because My Cup Runneth Over

There is nothing more beautiful and amazing to me than the efforts and strength of a mother.

It’s that never-ending female strength.   It’s those frequent moments that it’s not about you at all. It’s when you have to brush off any struggle you may be dealing with because the necessary task to care for your family doesn’t stop.

Everyone still needs to eat, be clothed, loved, along with all the other little things that go on throughout the day. You know the ones that become mindless habits to care for our families.

It’s when you have to brush off any struggle you may be dealing with because the necessary task to care for your family doesn’t stop.

Everyone still needs to eat, be clothed, loved, along with all the other little things that go on throughout the day. You know the ones that become mindless habits to care for our families.

While thinking on this subject I have your typical Mother in mind with your typical family.

But when I place my thoughts on the not-so-typical mom, the one with the not so typical family, maybe there is a child that is in constant need of a little extra care and with that comes the extra worry. As if there isn’t enough worry that comes in that package of motherhood.

But still, it’s the most amazing job you will ever do.

One of the reasons it is so beautiful!!!

Motherhood will definitely empty your cup!

And because it gives so much back to you, your cup always runneth over ~

When Second Blooms Sneak In

When Second Blooms Sneak In

When Second Blooms Sneak In

Moving to Mckinney after the sale of my floral and event business in West Texas I thought I was retiring, for good. Little by little that first year here in North Texas I dabbled in small parties I would throw and bought and designed flowers every chance I got for friends and family. Then I looked at my schedule one month, little did I know, I was happily back into my passion full force.

We are all on a journey,  our own personal journey’s. Each with different talents, dreams, and desires. We are not all created with equal skills, abilities, or opportunities.

I feel so fortunate to be full force on my own journey with my God given talent.

I just did a study on God’s purpose for our talents.

Reading Matthew 25:14-30 made me want to dig deeper into the reasoning of using our talents to support our livelihood.

Success only occurs when we take action.

What causes us to bury our talent and never use it? Out of fear we often choose to do nothing.

Fear trumps faith, if we let it.  Fear trumps mission if we let it. Fear makes cowards of us all, if we listen to its message more than God’s Words.

Once our faith is bigger then our fear, that is when we will see, that through our journey, God gives us everything we need to do what He has called us to do.

I didn’t want to be like the 3rd servant in Jesus’ Parable of the talents recorded in Matthew 25: 14-30 that hid his talent away doing nothing to increase it.

Faithfully,

Stormie

The Scoop

The Scoop

The Scoop

I’m pretty much like a kid passing an Ice cream shop when I see a quant little floral shop, they always get my attention.

You see it’s not always about going in and grabbing what you need . Of course we want our flowers to be top notch quality and worth the money.  But the experience I want is to be priceless and unforgettable.

Some of my absolute favorites are french floral shops, there is something magical about them not to be found elsewhere. There is a whole art and culture surrounding the buying and selling of flowers in France.

Today I’m going back to a specific Ice Cream shop in Texas that I renovated into a French inspired  floral shop.

Sharing photos to give you a virtual experience.  I hope my virtual tour is as priceless and unforgettable as if you had walked in to visit.

Here we are in your typical Texas ice-cream shop . Standing here my mind sees stone walls, wood beam ceilings giving warmth, tile floors that tell of an era and shutters in shades of Bleu de France.

Pictured are my visions in action.

Vases starting to fill the shelves in the back design room.

Now to unpack merchandise and create displays and designs.

When you walk in (it’s hard to resist such an invitation), the shop itself is a work of art, with antique furniture, beautiful painted tile floors, vintage mirrors. Full of wonderful, extravagant arrangements of every conceivable flower, blossom, bloom and foliage mixed with branches, moss, and vegetation of all kinds.

The smell of fresh florals is ever so calming.

Shop assistants are busy choosing, clipping, wrapping and tying perfect bunches and bouquets of flowers for customers who have an air of knowing exactly what they’re looking for and conscious of the fact that they are getting the very best.

I really miss the old way of shopping before COVID.  I hope it’s only a matter of time that we can once again experience mom and pop boutique shopping.

Online shopping has its upside but the downside is missing out on the experience of touching, smelling, and seeing .

Be well,

Morning Light

Morning Light

Morning Light

The stillness in the morning air and its light reflecting in the studio are blessings from the sun for me to take each day. Its the time of day I often wish I could freeze for just a moment longer.

Mornings are so peaceful and beautiful and pass so quickly.

The morning light changes and the day evolves and through that day there is a different light. Light advancing from the early dawn to the perfect day. As it changes and shadows appear it is up to me to to carry that brief morning light on and in hope spread it to others. I think back to what the first glimpse of that morning light brought me Joy, Peace, Happiness and a freshness almost like a fresh new start. Similar to Grace.

Believe me shadows will come!!  Its all about balance in your day. For it is true too much light can do as much harm as too much darkness. Where ever you find one the other must exist , never one without the other and they balance each other. The shadows of the day will come and 5:00 will mark the end of the work day .

I often want to freeze those moments as well!

All while knowing the morning light will come once again and I will have that fresh new start.

Psalm 46:5

God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved ;

God will help her when morning dawns.

 Psalm 130:6

My soul waits for the Lord

More then the watchman for the morning;

Indeed more then the watchmen for the morning.

 Be a light,
